“Two households, both alike in dignity
(In fair Verona, where we lay our scene),
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life;
Whose misadventured piteous overthrows
Doth with their death bury their families strife.”

In this unconventional re-imagining of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare’s classic play takes on new life. Our star-crossed lovers are elder residents of a care facility who face many trials in their quest for agency and love amidst dire circumstances.

While maintaining traditional language, this adaptation runs 90 minutes with one intermission. As Romeo & Juliet deals with themes of violence and suicide, parental guidance is recommended.
