…[C]o-directors Allison Nicole Acuff and Chandler Vance have proven that their adaptation of a timeless Shakespeare classic can prove to be among the best that this “bardolator” has ever seen.
Individually (and as a team) [Mary] Rowland and [Dan] Oliver are nothing short of fantastic. Each has a remarkable sense of timing along with an ability to invest a line with a multiplicity of nuances.
I heartily recommend this show to everyone.

The leads, Dan Oliver as Romeo and Mary Rowland as Juliet, are veterans of the stage; and it shows. Oliver’s Romeo has a delightful cynicism that gives way to lovestruck optimism, and then dogged determination to keep his new love alive. Rowland is simply magnetic — every monologue, every little quip was delivered precisely and her Juliet is a markedly complex woman. [….] Stone Soup’s Romeo and Juliet is a surefire way to have a fine weekend outing. From the opening lines to the last dance of the doomed pair, this show is one that you don’t want to miss.
[T]he only Romeo and Juliet over which I have shed actual tears […] such an effective reimagining that it becomes an entirely new play — one that could sit among the greats.
[….] If you love Shakespeare, you must see this production. If you hate Shakespeare, you really must see this production. This was a hell of a big swing, and the well-struck ball is probably
soaring somewhere over Virginia by now.
